I have a list that gets updated a couple of times a year– graduates from our program at Delaware College of Art and Design–where those design student went in pursuit of a BFA and how they landed that first job within the broad fields of Design & Art Direction.

Equal parts unscientific and curious, the list came about as our graduates, creative people of all types, sought a bit of advise after graduating from DCAD's small, intense 2 year program.

Growing this list may seem an odd validation to the greater academic world but it means a few key things I have learned over almost four decades of working in design are still applicable to our students.

My goal is to make an impression with future designers such that if they decide to mentor a junior team member some day or teach a
class, they will remember us, the instructors that pushed for thoughtful results and greater efforts at achieving empathy and affinity for their audience.
